Dori Amarilio is an award-winning musical director and composer and well-known L.A. jazz musician. His passion and proficiency in performing Brazilian music on guitar earned him an excellent reputation early by those who sought him out for their recordings and performances. He began composing music in his teens and studied composition and film scoring early in his career.
He spent many years working with industry greats, including Songwriters Hall of Fame member, the iconic Mike Stoller, and Oscar-winning director Charles Jarot. Dori has personally composed music for film and television and national advertisements. Whenever you turn the television on, chances are good you’ll be hearing some of his music. Amarilio is especially passionate about arranging orchestral soundtracks. Currently, he’s creating new orchestral arrangements of traditional Brazilian music for symphony, and he plans to conduct as well. In support of his passion, Dori toured South America as a music director for 3 months before becoming a very popular jazz guitarist in California.
Kiki and Dori have worked together locally on several charity fundraisers over the past year. Their strong blend of vocals and guitar has a special groove, and they’ve quickly become a popular duo on the Los Angeles jazz scene.
