HOLLYWOOD, CA-Better Lemons, a major source for critic and audience reviews for Los Angeles area theatrical productions of all venue sizes, just shared:
“There were 1200 productions registered on Better Lemons in 2019! Of those shows, over 600 received at least one review from a Critic and 201 were reviewed by Audience members. Out of these shows, we selected the winners that were most favored by Critics and/or Audiences.”
Our show, “To Dad with Love: A Tribute to Buddy Ebsen” received the “Double Sweet” award last year for having 100% positive reviews among registered critics and audience members alike. We were #4 of 33 shows (of 1200 total productions) to receive this distinction—with 30 Audience reviews and 14 Critics reviews!
We were also #4 of 32 shows (of 1200 productions) receiving a minimum of 10 Audience reviews with a SWEET LemonMeter rating by the Audience! This was a tight category with #1 receiving 41 audience reviews, and #2 and #3 receiving 32 audience reviews, to our 30 audience reviews! Again, you made this happen!
Further, we were #36 of 92 shows (of 1200 productions) receiving a minimum of 10 reviews with a SWEET LemonMeter rating by the Critics, as we had 14 Critics reviewing our show! That’s actually the Top 3% of all the productions staged last year!
Thanks & appreciation are due to those who made our production award-worthy by giving their best:
Lighting Designer/Stage Manager Ernest McDaniel and the volunteer team at Theatre West.
Our production team, including Co-Producer Steve Wallace (StKi Productions LLC);
Co-Creator and Special Effects/Multimedia Designer Dustin Ebsen; Director S. E. Feinberg, Choreographer and Dancer Gregory Gast.
